10 Terrible Songs By Great Artists

8. Troublemaker - Weezer

Most fans of Weezer's later work really felt the sting of Make Believe towards the turn of the '00s. While not Weezer's worst record by a long shot, it became clear that Rivers Cuomo was going to need to shift things around a bit on their next record if they were to win back their fanbase. He managed to get halfway there with Pork and Beans...and then immediately put his foot in his mouth for Troublemaker.

Being one of the more bold and brash songs that Cuomo would ever write, the narrator of this song comes off like a swaggering rock god, trying his best to show you that he's one of the coolest people you have ever met in your life. Granted, it's a little hard to take seriously coming out of the dude that looks a bit too much like Buddy Holly.

Though Cuomo has always insisted on this swaggering style to be a bit of a joke, it's not a particularly funny joke at that, especially when finding the need to rhyme "bee-yotch" with "ki-yods." From day one, Weezer has always been a band for the little guy to listen to instead of the big tough badasses of rock and roll. When they try to act big and tough though, they just end up coming off as dads trying to act hip with the kids.
