10 Things Only Megadeth Fans Will Understand
3. Worrying About Each New Record
A new Megadeth album is always an exciting prospect, but it can also be pretty daunting, too. During the band's early years it was recording album after album of amazing material, but somewhere along the way the guarantee of a brilliant album began to fade.
Don't get me worng, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the band experimenting (in fact, it's something that should be encouraged) but it's also true that much of Megadeth's strongest material comes when they focus on their traditional, heavier-sounding roots. With the 2013 release of Super Collider, many fans and critics were disappointed with yet another failed attempt at capturing a more commercial sound, producing generic, lukewarm songs. Even now, then, it seems that Dave Mustaine hasn't abandoned the idea of attempting to go mainstream, despite the fact that it has proven time and time disappointing to his audience. With all that said, anticipating a new Megadeth album is a mixed bag of emotions. What will it sound like? And will it actually be good? Right now, fans are looking towards Dystopia, set to be released in early 2016. Thankfully, if the lead single Fatal Illusion is anything to go by, we're in for another treat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MRtdd3tXI4
