10 Things You Didn't Know About Foster The People

5 . Mark Foster's First Brush With The Music Industry

Although not totally confirmed, Foster himself has stated in interviews that the band was not his first chance at the music industry. According to Foster, at 22 he was approached by Aftermath Records which was founded by Dr Dre. Apparently, they wanted to hear some of his music.

Foster said that once he met with representatives, talks quickly fell through. Apparently, they saw him as a successful soul/crossover artist, based on his piano style, but Foster wanted to pursue a career in more electronic based music. The two parties couldn't agree and he went back to his old, odd jobs.

Baring in mind that this hasn't been confirmed by representatives from Aftermath, it's interesting to think what could have been. What would Mark Foster's career have been like then?
