4. Foster's Drug Fuelled Past

Many musicians have drug fuelled pasts, in fact in the 60's and 70's it was a guarantee. But, Mark Foster's drug fuelled days were at their peak when he was between 16 and 19 years old. His drug addiction worried people around him, but eventaully at the age of 19 he snapped out of it as he didn't feel 'productive'.

In an interview with NME, Foster recalls the first gig he ever played. It was a high school battle of the bands competition, but it also happened to be the first time he took LSD. The night before the gig, he took LSD and went on a particularly big trip only to turn up to the gig during the comedown. The rest of the band were in the same situation.

Needless to say, they didn't win. Foster's wake up call would come three years later, and you know the rest.
