Describing himself as having a 'weird relationship' with performing live in the beginning, it turns out Smith used to be partial to a little whiskey before going on stage. Don't shake your heads in disappointment; the poor guy's first live show was at Bestival with Disclosure in front of thousands of people. If there was ever an appropriate time to turn to alcohol, it was surely then. In recent live shows Smith's confidence has soared; whether he's performing with a band like Disclosure or singing his own soul music, he appears to have left stage fright behind for good. Practise makes perfect, huh?
