10 Things You Should Know About The Guns N' Roses Reunion
10. Steven Tyler, Fred Durst And Andrew Dice Clay Are All Taking Credit For It
Steven Tyler, the lead singer of Aerosmith (currently out promoting a solo country project), dropped by Howard Stern in late January, and claimed he was one (though not the only) of the folks who helped get Guns N' Roses back together again. Sure you were, Steve. So was Andrew Dice Clay, if you choose to believe him. The 80/90s era comedian, who once opened for and introduced the band at live shows, also claimed to be the instigator, stating that he had gotten in touch with Slash, and road manager Tom Mayhew, going through Mayhew to convince Slash to say something nice about Axl. A few hours after this supposed encouragement, Slash tweeted a happy birthday message to Rose. Fred Durst was then telling stories in late 2015, claiming he was the reason Axl and Slash were back in touch. As you do.
