I was on the junior team when I was a freshman, thats how good I was. But I wasnt on my eighth-grade team, because some coach some Grammy, some reviewer, some fashion person, some blah blah blah theyre all the same as that coach.
While trying to explain why he wasn't picked to be on his eighth-grade basketball team, Ye starts siphoning off some of his old hatreds onto everyone who has ever wronged him in some way. Which basically just ends up with Kanye whining about not getting everything he's always wanted. Kanye wants your tiny mind to understand that the ignorant coach is just a metaphor, man. And see, we all have our own "coaches" to contend with in life. That is, someone who stands in the way of our being given preferential treatment and thus allowing us the opportunity to sulk about something as inconsequential as getting picked for a sports team more than a decade after the fact. Sorry, Kanye, the metaphor doesn't really work because you just come off as a petulant child. But that's okay, the dude had to try. After all, you miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take. Right, Ye?
