10 Times Rock Musicians Lost Their Cool On Stage

8. Axl Stage Dives Into A Fight

It was inevitable that Axl would show up on this list. A guy infamous for having on stage tantrums, turning up late for shows and just making things genuinely difficult for his fellow band mates and fans.

In 1991, during the bands performance of Rocket Queen, Axl barely made it through the first few lines before spotting a member of the crowd causing mayhem, stopping to request the bouncers kick him out. However, Axl has never been known for his patience, and either due to his utter mastery of showmanship or perhaps due to mere luck, Axl dove into the crowd seemingly in-sync with Slash's guitar playing, before the bouncers had time to react.

After being pulled from the turmoil he declared he was going home, leaving a somewhat helpless sounding slash to say "He just smashed the mic, we're outta here". Poor Slash, he just wanted to melt some faces with his Les Paul...

There were countless examples of this kind of thing happening all throughout Guns N' Roses lifespan, which helped contribute to their dangerous and unpredictable reputation.

Axl's apparent penchant for chaos can be better understood with the knowledge of his troubled past. Being abused from an extremely young age by his father, left the enigmatic frontman with a number of ongoing mental health issues.
