10 Times Rock Musicians Lost Their Cool On Stage

6. Josh Tillman Rants About The State Of The World

Who doesn't like their musicians to be socially and politically aware? Josh Tillman (Father John Misty) has been a pioneer of musical, social and political commentary over the last decade, with his comical but at times convoluted, lyrical explorations of modern life.

Back in 2016, when Trump was first elected president of America, the majority of the world was in a strange limbo between shock horror and confused entertainment.

Josh Tillman encapsulated this perfectly with a six and half minute display of outrage and disbelieve, as he began to lambast society and the current culture about its unconscious and placid acceptance that allowed an individual like Trump to enter the Whitehouse.

The crowd lapped it up though. In an ironic display of appreciation for his words, the audience cheered and clapped as he ridiculed the hipsters and socialites for indulging in all those things that allow them to stay mostly oblivious to the chaos that led to Trump's rise.

Tillman talks about all this kind of stuff in his lyrics anyway, but for whatever reason on that day it was time to put down the guitar, drop the jaunty lyrical delivery and spit some truths the old fashioned way.
