10 Totally Unique Locations For Music Concerts

6. Rage Against The Machine In Front Of The New York Stock Exchange (2000)

Rage Against the Machine were one of those rare bands that were damn-near untouchable. During their initial nine-year run from 1991-2000, they released four studio albums, including one covers album, and each and every one contains a mini-greatest hits of songs recognisable to even the most casual of music listeners.

As well as their penchant for incredible music, they also liked to dabble in controversy. Just a tid bit.

In 2000, RATM released a music video for the song "Sleep Now in the Fire" from the The Battle of Los Angeles album. While the song itself has enough little anecdotes and easter eggs to form a list by itself, the video alone is its own little talking point as it ever so slightly shut down the New York Stock Exchange.

De la Rocha, Morello, Commerford and Wilks performed in breach of New York permit laws which resulted in the arrest of music video director Michael Moore, while the band led scores of fans into a march against the Stock Exchange, making through the first set before bouncing off the titanium riot doors.
