They achieved instant success with their debut self-title album, buoyed by the popularity of hit single Far Behind, which lead singer Kevin Martin penned in tribute to Mother Love Bone singer Andrew Wood, who died of a heroin overdose. It is undoubtedly their signature track and, while it borders on power ballad territory at times, it is a true fist-pumper. An alternative rock staple, sure, but some of their other, lesser-known material deserves a look in. Where Are They Now: The group split in the late 90s in order to get out of their record deal, with Martin having to fight for his share of the band's royalties. They regrouped in 2006 and have released two albums, with a third one due to drop this year.
