10 Underrated Hard Rock Songs Of The 2000s

4. No Way Back - Foo Fighters

There's pretty much a little something for everyone that came with the Foo Fighters' album In Your Honor. Being the first double album for Dave Grohl and the gang, each disc seemed to have their own distinct identity, being one part rock album and one part mellow acoustic disc. Though the best aspects tend to fit somewhere in the middle, they did have an ace in the hole with No Way Back.

Compared to the more ambitious undertaking of a double album, this song practically has all the drama you're looking for in an album like this. As a great extension on their usual sound, this song shows Grohl in prime form as he delivers one of the most freeflowing licks he has ever committed to tape on this outing. That's just the start of the madness though, with Taylor Hawkins giving a rip roaring performance behind the kit while Chris Shiftlett finally settles into his groove as the Foos' lead guitarist on the solo.

On the other hand, this kind of freewheeling rock and roll didn't really have a prayer at breaking big on radio after the powerhouse Best of You started to infest the airwaves. So next time you check in and cherrypick your favorite songs on In Your Honor, give this a spin and see how well it's held up over the years.
