https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTHVDOMf3Jc Tim Finn was like a hokey animatronic dummy that had come alive. Youre in for an off-putting treat if youve never seen the seventies music videos of New Zealand group Split Enz (Bold as Brass, My Mistake, and Lovey Dovey will get you through the day). Finn was only the most visible weirdo in a whole band of costumed clown/musicians, each with their own individual tics. The theatrical strangeness was very much all-for-one and one-for-all. For a time, Tim Finn was rocks most watchable lead singer. In performance he seemed like a silent film character, all melodramatic gestures in fast-motion. His face always seemed to be wriggling a bee off its nose. His dance moves were those of a deranged old person. Compared to the other more alienating vibes on this list, Finn kept up a sense of fun and innocence. Plus he had a great soaring voice, and did a solid impression of a trumpet.
