10 Up & Coming Metal Bands You Need To Hear

7. Mortality Rate

Hardcore punk meets pure anarchy and demonic thrash when Mortality Rate roll into town, and if you aren't accordingly equipped for their music it may melt your entire face.

At this early stage of their careers, the Calgary based group have already earned some valuable stage time across North America, supporting the likes of Every Time I Die, Power Trip and Jesus Piece. On top of this, they recently completed a headline tour of their own across the UK and Europe, bringing their barrage of intoxicating thrash rage across the pond for the first time.

Despite only have one full-length album to their name, Mortality Rate have already proved themselves to be a volatile, gnarly and extreme metal unit. Their latest release was the 2019 EP, 'You Were the Gasoline' and runs for just ten minutes despite containing six songs. The prolific execution of these songs is truly exhausting and makes you wonder how Mortality Rate have the energy to perform such devastating, relentless songs.
