10 Utterly Bizarre Album Titles (And What They Really Mean)

9. Limp Bizkit €“ Chocolate Starfish And Hot Dog Flavored Water

When it comes to the nu metal genre, Limp Bizkit are frequently criticized and maligned, despite having sold over forty million records worldwide and having been nominated for three Grammy Awards. Many criticisms are levelled at front man Fred Furst, who has a reputation for aggravating non-fans. Nevertheless, the band knows how to come up with a weird title. Chocolate Starfish And Hot Dog Flavored Water is the band's third studio album, released in the year 2000. It's perhaps best known for spawning the single Rollin'. As for what the title actually means, well, there are several components. The first part (Chocolate Starfish) is a butthole gag, whereas the second (Hot Dog Flavored Water) is a reference to a joke between the band. While at a truck stop, the band's guitarist Wes Borland saw bottles of Crystal Geyser flavoured water and joked about the possibility of there being a hot dog flavour. Must be one of those "had to be there" things.
