10 Weird-Ass Music Videos That TOTALLY RUINED Awesome Songs

1. Pixies - Velouria

At first glance, you would think you've just stumbled upon a home video made by a family on their annual camping trip but the story behind The Pixies' Velouria music video is truly hilarious and a big middle finger to a well known British TV show.

The music video to Velouria is literally the band climbing down from a bunch of rocks in super slow motion. In real time the clip lasts around 23 seconds but it has been slowed down to fit the song. The reason? Well, in 1990, The Pixies achieved their very first UK top 40 hit with Velouria from their third album Bossanova and were invited to play on Top Of The Pops providing the song had a music video.

Inspired by the stupidity of the show's rules, The Pixies went on to create one of the most hilariously simplistic music videos of all time. However, despite their time, effort and money going into this video, they had missed their opportunity to play on Top Of The Pops by the time the music video was released. As funny as the idea is, the video is so tedious you'll click away before hearing the end of the song.
