10 Weird-Ass Music Videos That TOTALLY RUINED Awesome Songs

7. Muse - Plug In Baby

From one hard-rocking English three piece to another now as we focus our attention to one of the biggest bands on the planet right now, Muse. Before they were selling out stadiums and releasing giant inflatable balls of confetti into the crowds, the three lads from Devon released their 2001 album Origin Of Symmetry which sky rocketed them to stardom.

The first single they released off the album was Plug In Baby which perfectly encapsulated the music stylings of Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard. With the incredible opening riff, Bellamy's smooth vocals and the massive chorus, Plug In Baby put Muse on everybody's music radar in the early 2000s. Although you may first associate the song with THAT guitar riff, you can't help but shake the image in the back of your mind of a half naked legless woman with some sort of tube-like tentacles shooting out of her hips. To this day, I have no idea what the director was going for here, all I know is it put me off calamari for life.

I see my role at WhatCulture the same way my wife sees my role as a lover: I contribute in a very small way, my presence is barely noticeable and I’m not entirely sure if the laughter is at me or with me.
