10 Worst Album Covers In Rock
7. Just Push Play - Aerosmith
It's safe to say that after the '00s turned a corner, Aerosmith had really stopped trying. Once they had their first big hit with I Don't Want To Miss A Thing, the album Just Push Play is the sellout album to end all sellout albums, with each track being more poppy than the last. That's not a problem so long as it's good...but that album cover sure didn't start us off on the right foot.
Since Aerosmith had already been giants of the scene up to this point, most people would have bought this regardless of what kind of graphic they wanted to put on the cover. However, this robot figurine of Marilyn Monroe is one the truly cursed images of the early '00s. From the reason why she's a humanoid to why this album had any connotations to Marilyn Monroe, all this cover does is leave you with a lot more questions than outright answers.
At the same time, that might be the point. When it comes to the more manufactured side of Aerosmith's sound, most fans can't help but look on everything with profound amazement, as if to wonder how the hell things got so out of hand. In that case, it did it's job pretty well...just not the job that Aerosmith would have wanted it to.
