10 Worst Hard Rock Lyrics Of The ‘80s
6. Let Me Put My Love Into You - AC/DC
It doesn’t really take a genius to dissect an AC/DC song. For as many songs as these Aussies have about rocking out, the other half of their discography is about the band trying to find some lover for the night. While the band have always been able to hide their intentions pretty well, there are other times when it doesn’t seem like they’re even trying.
1980’s Back in Black is usually known as the tribute album to late singer Bon Scott, but replacement Brian Johnson still had to settle in when it came to “Let Me Put My Love Into You.” Though Scott was prolific when singing about his sexual prowess, there is pretty much nothing to hide behind when you have a title like that. It makes sense that Johnson wouldn’t hit it completely out of the park on his first record with the band, but the fact that he did write a good sex jam with “You Shook Me All Night Long” makes this song look silly by comparison.
Granted, if this is the one dud on the record, it really is a testament to how great the rest of Back in Black is as a watershed moment in rock. AC/DC may have written some stupid songs, but when you have the amazing rhythm and backbeat, all can be forgiven eventually.
