10 Worst Songs To Ever Reach Number 1 In The UK

3. Mr Blobby - My Blobby (1993)

Noel Edmonds may be best known these days for presiding over the late afternoon lives of older generations as the host of Deal or No Deal this century - but before the turn of the millennium, he was best known as host of the light entertainment programme Noel's House Party.

From this show came Mr Blobby, a large, gelatinous pink creature in a bow-tie used to mostly play pranks on celebrity guests, before taking on a merchandise-heavy life of his own as a favourite of kids everywhere.

His eponymous hit single proved to be gibberish of the highest order - a horrendously infectious number that rattled the teeth of most people around the nation, as Blobby invaded the airwaves en-masse.

The video remains an interestingly fun curio though, with parodies of several other popular clips of the time by acts like Robert Palmer and Genesis, while Carol Vorderman and Jeremy Clarkson both make strange cameos along the way.

Something of a culture vulture, Mr Steel can historically be found in three places; the local cinema, the local stadium or the local chip shop. He is an avowed fan of franchise films, amateur cricket and power-chords.
