Proving that you can teach an old dog new tricks almost four decades into their career, the closing number from The Book of Souls found the group at their most musically expansive to date, to critical acclaim, taking Maiden's usual ingredients and shaking them up into something new.

This eighteen-minute sweeping epic, penned by Dickinson, sees the frontman bring piano into the band's sound for the first time and finds him arguably at the peak of his storytelling powers, adding a veneer of tragic romance to this tale of the R101 airship crash in 1930.
