The original - and until the group's most recent record, the best - of their full-tilt epics, the closing track from fifth album Powerslave arguably elevated that already great album to the metal cosmos, weaving an evocative wonder over the listener as it recounts its fateful voyage.

Its fervent reception is likely a key reason why Maiden continued to push their musical boundaries with longer fare over the sharper, shorter bursts of their early days - but this Samuel Taylor Coleridge-quoting piece of magnificence remains in high esteem for good reason.
