the People the Poet spent their first four formative years under the moniker
Tiger Please, and as
Tiger Please they laid some pretty substantial groundwork for a steady rise in the music industry; touring as support to
Kids in Glass Houses,
InMe,
Twin Atlantic and
Funeral for a Friend, releasing two well received EPs in the shape of
They Dont Change Under Moonlight and
Seasons, and being featured in
Kerrang!,
Rock Sound and
Classic Rock going so far as to appear on the cover mounted CD for both the latter two. However, after having asked fans, friends and family to share their stories for the band in turn to take those stories and share them with the world via the lyrics to their as yet unreleased debut album, due next year, this saw a change of emphasis from the band themselves to the people that helped them get where they were. The band felt that the album was no longer just theirs, but instead a shared creation with everyone who shared their tale and for this reason
Tiger Please became
the People the Poet. As
the People the Poet, the band have teased at their up and coming debut with a four track
