Kappa Gamma
indie/pop/geography rock I know we all love geography rock and feel that nothing new can be can created within its vast genre landscape or on its tectonic plates, especially not with this current climate, but theres some new kids on the sedimentary rock (block). What that was, was a failed attempt at playing fast and loose with vaguely geographical terms to evoke humour solely stemming from the fact that
Kappa Gamma cite their genre as Geography Rock on Facebook. As to actual useful information;
Kappa Gamma are a five piece based roughly around Nottingham who deal in a hazy and dreamlike take on indie its fuzzy and woozy but boasts some sweetly intricate melodies. Theyre also none too shabby at stripping it back for
acoustic sets on rooftops. Already making ripples that may well turn to waves with
Radio 1,
6Music and
Xfm, theyve recently supported
Rolo Tomassi being signed to their Destination Moon Records, alongside Denizen Recordings. Keep your ears clear, brush up on your Greek alphabet, open your geography books. http://youtu.be/Q8F9Mog2wms
