Bossk
post-metal/ambient/experimentalBossk dont have many songs, but what songs they do have are long and in spite of this, or maybe even because of this, they have quite a considerable and keen following on the underground music scene; a considerable following that were left thoroughly disappointed by the bands announced split in late 2008. Though things inevitably come to an end, so too do ends sometimes inevitably come to an end. In the case of
Bossk the end to that end came about this year with a
BBC Maida Vale Session, and the announcement of a return to the live circuit if very minimally so. One of those gigs was
Damnation Festival at the start of this month in Leeds University, and I was lucky enough to be there. Though the future of
Bossk is unspecified at the moment, with no known plans, if the performance they gave and the rabid reception they received at
Damnation are anything to go by then this end to their end should not also end. That makes sense, right? For what little songs they have,
Bossk more than make up for it with expansive atmospherics, luxurious soundscapes, immersive ambience, droning feedback and heavy riffs. http://youtu.be/585ES0cIyJk
