12 Greatest Duos In Hard Rock

2. The Young Brothers - AC/DC

It's not unusual for family members to co-mingle in a hard rock band from time to time. Though we may have seen different incarnations of brothers in a band with the Kinks and Oasis, the band's staying power is normally dependent on whether or not these blood relatives can actually get along. Rather than spend their time fighting for the spotlight, the Young Brothers plugged into their amps and built a hard rock empire.

Creating AC/DC from the ground up, Angus and Malcolm Young are one of the reasons why rock and roll became so powerful, with some of the greatest riffs in the entire genre. Every show may seem like a non-stop party, but there was always more to the band than just rock and roll debauchery. Clad in a schoolboy uniform, Angus commanded the stage effortlessly, as he flailed around like a man possessed by the powerful music coming from his instrument.

It's easy to call Malcolm's role as rhythm guitarist easy, but the way he was able to lay into the groove of the song is something that is untouchable. Sure, AC/DC's music may be get pegged as fairly simple when compared to the technical wizards of the music world, but once you take a look at how these songs work, the chemistry these two siblings have is nothing short of amazing.
