7. Bury Tomorrow €“ Man On Fire

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ct8BgfhXvk Bury Tomorrow are one of the UK's best and heaviest metalcore outfits. The quintet formed in 2006, releasing their debut LP Portraits in 2009 and their sophomore album The Union Of Crowns in 2012. The band have always been very vocal about their passion for metalcore, despite it becoming a dirty word among many in the music industry, as well as remaining keen to associate with the label and prove its relevance as a metal sub-genre. One of the band's unique traits is their ability to bring in light, almost ethereal melodies into their work, while maintaining that ability to deliver solid, lurching breakdowns and bursts of punchy, heavy riffs. The band's upcoming album Runes isn't set for release until May, but the group have dropped two singles in the run up to the album's release. The latest is Man On Fire, arguably their best work yet, and features some of the best screams in the business courtesy of Daniel Winter-Bates. The band's frontman combines his trademark, low-pitch growls with guitarist Jason Cameron's brilliant clean vocal work to create a beautiful, atmospheric mix of melodic hard and metalcore. The track's increased emphasis on Daniel's screams makes it particularly abrasive for anyone not accustomed to the genre, when combined with the chugging guitar work and the thudding percussion, the outcome is truly monstrous, and all the better for it.
