12 Hugely Anticipated Hard Rock Albums Coming In 2020 (And Beyond)
7. Queens Of The Stone Age (With Dave Grohl?)
Regardless of what you want to say about Josh Homme's work with Queens of the Stone Age, there's never been a dull moment. Across the band's catalog, albums like Rated R and even lowlight Era Vulgaris have left many fans more than satisfied with their unique blend of desert rock, hard rock, and artsy tendencies.
However, it's a bit of mystery as to what this next project from Homme and co. might entail. While most of QOTSA's discography has been Homme's beast with a star studded cast of musicians, the last record Villains was one of the few records in their catalog to not feature an extensive list of guest stars. At the same time, there are some encouraging signs that this new album might be something different.
In an interview, ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons had discussed his time laying down a new guitar solo for the latest Queens record, something that hadn't happened since "Burn the Witch" back in 2005. Though Dave Grohl was also in talks to be involved, Grohl has pointed out that he hasn't recorded anything yet and was more or less hanging out with Josh in the studio for the time being. Given the celebrities already at Josh's disposal, be prepared to expect a few more surprises to come out of this one.
