12 Most Hated Rock Albums Of All Time
2. All The Right Reasons - Nickelback
For as much as people like to dunk on Nickelback, the band at least had some potential at the beginning of their career. While the band had a handful of good tunes on their debut the State, the band quickly found out that it was much easier to piss away their songwriting expertise and cash checks than to actually become...y'know...a good band.
While most rock fans could pick out a few different Nickelback records to make this list, All the Right Reasons was where the more wretched elements of their sound really started to come into view. Though most people drone on about Chad Kroeger's unlistenable voice, it's far from the worst thing about this record. From the borderline stalker tendencies of "Follow You Home" to the weird sexual fetishism of "Animals," the album feels like a hodgepodge of every bad trope of rock music forced onto one CD.
Over the years, many relics from the 2000's have been brought out of the woodwork to be made into memes. Even though many great bands have been given the meme curse, Nickelback is one of the few groups who are used as a punchline and actually deserve a fair bit of the vitriol. Though it sold well in its day, All the Right Reasons is the most focus-grouped excuse for a rock album to ever come out of the Noughties.
