12 Most Hated Rock Albums Of All Time
5. Be Here Now - Oasis
If you listened to any type of rock music in the 90's, chances are Oasis found their way onto your playlist more than a few times. On the strength of their debut Definitely Maybe and their epic followup What's the Story Morning Glory, the band were quickly being heralded as the new Beatles, from their tuneful singles to their ability to sell out Knebworth in record time.
Fans couldn't seem to get enough, but we found out just how high the giants could fall once Be Here Now was released. At first, there doesn't seem to be anything too out of place with this record, with most of it being the typical snide rock and roll you've come to expect from the Gallagher brothers.
The devil is in the details though. As the album keeps going, you start to realize that these to-the-point rock tunes have turned into some of the most drawn-out exercises of the decade, with 7 minute songs that could have easily been cut down to 3 or 4 minutes. While critics praised it at the time, this album has taken quite the beating nowadays for the album that marked the beginning of the end for Britpop. With even Noel Gallagher himself dragging it through the mud, it seems that Be Here Now will forever be known as the moment Oasis lost some of their trademark magic.
