7. Norah Jones' Punk Rocker, Maddie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXuJc-bxJHw When the world knows you as the sweet and soulful, smoky-voiced singer of "Don't Know Why," it can be hard for them to take you seriously as a punk rock chick, blasting out songs called "Rock Yer Balls" and "Head in a Vise." But Norah Jones isn't content to sit a piano all the time and had the urge to rock out a little. So in order to keep her identity secret (and her prominent career safe), Jones slapped on some fishnets, a blonde wig and some face paint, and started calling herself Maddie. The band, appropriately dubbed El Madmo, had an easy go of it for their first slew of gigs, with no one realizing Jones was a part of it. Her new persona has since been made public, but the band made such a solid first impression that Jones should be able to hold onto the punk rock outfit as a legitimate side project if she feels the need to let out some aggression every now and again.
