12 No-Skip Hard Rock Albums
9. Motörhead - Orgasmatron
Rock ’n’ Roll legends Motörhead are responsible for one of the most well-known rock songs of all time. But they are much more than the Ace of Spaces, and Orgasmatron is a fantastically titled album which will make your legs quiver.
Deaf Forever introduces the album’s unique sound through the electronic drone of Lemmy’s bass. Bombastic drumming and electric fizzes make this song addictive.
Nothing Up My Sleeve begins with an Ace of Spades sounding bass but turns into a jaunty rock track that makes your hips move.
Ain’t My Crime is a fast-paced, in your face tribute to Lemmy’s chosen image. This song creates images of a Motörhead on tour montage. It’s pure joy.
Claw starts with a barrage from drummer, Pete Gill, and heads straight into a brighter, fun song which emphasizes the whole band as Lemmy’s bass isn’t droning.
Mean Machine, Built for Speed, and Ridin’ With the Driver are all speedy tracks with Lemmy’s gruff gravel providing a familiar Motörhead sound.
The next track is Doctor Rock, a Motörhead concert staple. Fun, catchy, and loud, Doctor Rock is one of the band’s exceptional tracks.
Closing the album, with the electronic drone sound that is present in a number of the album’s tracks, is the eponymous Orgasmatron. Swapping speed for power, the repetitive rhythmic pumping throughout this track puts an exclamation mark on the entire album. While it may not be a Speed Rock staple, Orgasmatron is still everything louder than everyone else.
