12 Perfect Classic Rock Albums With NO Bad Songs

9. The Doors - The Doors

Towards the end of the '60s, it was clear that the utopia that the hippie generation was trying to build was starting to become a disaster. Even though we would have loved to stop the war and put flowers into guns, the entire landscape was shifting and people were starting to see the dark side of Vietnam. And if there was a band who was familiar with that kind of darkness, it was the Doors.

Coming right in the middle of the Summer of Love scene of '66, the Doors' debut was a look at the sinister edge of flower power, bringing in songs that were a lot more intellectual as well as being terrifying at the same time. Although Jim Morrison clearly had the stage presence to pull off some of these songs, that didn't stop the shows from devolving into anarchy sometimes, especially when songs like the End threw everything into a drug-induced Hell.

This was still a hit though, which still seems crazy after all these years. During the era when the Beatles were chanting that all we needed was love, Morrison was right beside them in the charts telling his girl to light his fire. Compared to what the hippie generation was singing about, this was the kind of love that had a hint of danger behind it.
