12 PERFECT Hard Rock Albums With No Bad Songs

6. Pyromania - Def Leppard

When Def Leppard started to get the ball rolling, they were just a bunch of kids with dreams of becoming the biggest band in the world. Though originally lumped into the world of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, things started to turn a corner when the band teamed up with producer Mutt Lange.

Lange's track record with AC/DC on Back in Black had impressed the band, but Lange wanted the band to aim higher than just the hard rock sounds of their previous effort High N Dry. Though he had worked with them in past, Lange insisted that it was time to hunker down and create something that no one had heard before.

With Pyromania, the band took their hard rock roots and combined them with the catchy hooks of 70's glam rock and pop. Suddenly, you had a record with songs that sounded like Queen if they were told to play an AC/DC track. The entire record exploded, with songs like "Rock of Ages" and "Photograph" becoming staples on the radio. Even deep cuts like "Stagefright" were so hooky they could have been singles in their own right. They weren't the biggest band in the world yet, but this record was the moment where everything came together for Def Leppard.
