12 PERFECT Hard Rock Albums With No Bad Songs

7. Meteora - Linkin Park

At the start of the 2000s, nu metal was starting to sound stale. Amid the copycat bands living off of drop tunings and songs about their childhood problems, Linkin Park came out of the California club scene and turned the music industry on its head.

Though the band were true giants after their debut Hybrid Theory, the modern classic status of the record started to feel like an albatross around the band's neck. Once the band entered the studio to produce the follow-up, the band refined the hard edges of their sound and created another unprecedented record. Meteora is truly a high point for the band and nu metal as a whole, with over half of the album's tracks becoming hits on alternative rock radio. The sheer power behind these songs is so massive that the time the time spent listening to it seems to evaporate in front of you.

Even though some of the tracks have been played into the ground like "Numb" and "Breaking the Habit," sometimes the radio beats a song to death because it is in fact that damn good. It was no easy feat trying to match Hybrid Theory, but with Meteora, Linkin Park showed they could not just equal their previous success but maybe even surpass it.
