12 Shocking Music Videos You Won't Believe Actually Exist

8. Aphex Twin - Windowlicker

Aphex Twin and Chris Cunningham have collaborated on many different videos, and the one that is most often celebrated for its shocking nature is the terrifying Come To Daddy. However, there should be no doubt that it's actually Windowlicker that is far and away the most controversial - and arguably, most ingenious - video that the duo ever produced. From the track's title (a despicable term used in reference to children with learning difficulties) to the amount of swearing in the video's opening few minutes (127 profanities are used, including 44 "f*cks", averaging one swear word every two seconds), it seems like everything about Windowlicker was designed solely to annoy censors. The video itself pokes fun at the booty culture of hip-hop videos, with scantily clad dancers moving provocatively while donning horrifyingly distorted grinning masks of Aphex Twin himself. There is a wonderful balance of sensuality and revulsion, with glistening female bodies clashing terribly with sneering ugly features - something Aphex mocks when he "ejaculates" champagne immediately after the revelation of the ugliest masked dancer. Windowlicker is a work of art... But, unsurprisingly, Ofcom received plenty of complaints when its full version was aired on pre-watershed MTV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBS4Gi1y_nc
