12 Things You Should Be Listening To - Welsh Music Prize Special

Cate Le Bon

CYRK Whilst she may have first gained public attention of some substantial level in support of last year€™s winner Gruff Rhys, there is a lot more reasoning behind her nomination here this year. Having officially started her career in 2008 with a Welsh language EP, Cate Le Bon has branched out into containing English in her lyrical language. This change may be an obvious increase in accessibility to her music, but with her WMP nominated album CYRK she has fully formed her musical style, encapsulating as it does the sounds of Syd Barrett€™s solo work, late period Velvet Underground and Super Furry Animals. http://youtu.be/swJNnYHFPWA website twitter
