Its always difficult when the subject of a meme becomes aware of and participates in the meme. Remember when Rick Astley rick-rolled the NYC Thanksgiving Parade? That was a move that was both splendid, and sort of ended the memes chokehold on the internet (although it was definitely time it died a death). No Its Becky started on Tumblr when Taylor Swifts image was appropriated for a very serious message about the dangers of snorting marijuana (which actually probably is super dangerous considering theres a very real choking hazard). It had a fairly low-level life of its own as a meme with the original posters insistence that no its becky, but then Taylor waded into the fray and gave it the breath of fresh air it needed. She posted a photo of herself wearing a custom-made no its becky t-shirt in the style of 1989's album cover, and has been photographed since wearing it out and about in a hilariously meta assertion that its not Taylor Swift. No, its Becky.
