13 Famous Bands With More Lineup Changes Than You'll Believe
9. Megadeth
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYzUIKnGVvk It's (jokingly) called MegaDave for a good reason! When Dave Mustaine was dismissed from Metallica in the early 1980s, he opted to go out and found his own band, Megadeth. While never achieving the success of Metallica (who still had a couple of Mustaine's compositions on their early albums), Megadeth managed to reach impressive heights, most notably the early 90s album Countdown to Extinction. Considered one of the "big four" bands of thrash metal, Megadeth ensured that Mustaine was not just a footnote in musical history as "that guy kicked out of Metallica" - but recognizing who is in the band with him often requires a map and photo album to keep track of. Over the years Megadeth have had twenty members plus a handful of session players, proving it might just be MegaDave after all. However, recently founding bassist David Ellefson returned to the fold to continue with the new album.
