13 Famous Bands With More Lineup Changes Than You'll Believe

8. Guns N' Roses

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3k1JVZANu8 Admit it, you expected this one to be higher. Yet despite being something of a revolving door from the start when it comes to membership (founding guitarist and namesake Tracii Guns never even made it to the first record, nor did the late Ole Beich, the band's first bassist), Guns N' Roses have had something of a stable line-up since the mid-aughts, with only one notable change since 2006 or so. The most tumultuous period, of course, came after the implosion of the early 90s line-up: drummer Steven Adler (who had replaced Rob Gardner early on) was kicked out of the band due to substance abuse issues prior to the release of the Use Your Illusion albums, and founding guitarist Izzy Stradlin left before touring for that album even ended. After the final release featuring lead guitarist Slash, 1994's cover of The Rolling Stone's Sympathy for the Devil, the floodgates opened for a time - out were Slash and later Duff, in were a number of guitarists, and The Replacements' Tommy Stinson. The only constants were singer Axl Rose and keyboardist Dizzy Reed (UYI onwards). Stinson is now the third longest-serving member in band history. In recent years, both Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan have played shows with the band again, with Slash the only notable band member yet to return, at least part time, to the fold.
