1. Tusindfald
dream pop/shoegaze/drone http://youtu.be/cl0wE0DKs34 There's a reason dream pop is called dream pop and aside from some musical journalist striking gold with another new label it's because when it's done right it sounds like how the best dreams feel; euphoric, soothing, serene, and blissful. Denmark's Tusindfals seem to craft dream pop in its purest form, and the result is a hazy and heady wash of soft focus distortion, sublime atmosphere, and the therapeutic sensation of meditation. I imagine, anyway, I've never been one for achieving nirvana outside of numbness. The collective are all musical students of sound design and it is audible in every glistening twinkle and sensuous wave. Think Sigur Ros, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, and getting totally lost in sound.
