5. That F**king Tank
instrumental indie/math rock/stoner A bit of an anniversary for this Leeds twosome this one as they are currently celebrating their tenth year as That F**king Tank. In the tradition of noisy duos the pair really do make a lot of racket considering they're lacking the numbers most bands would require to make the same sort of noise. Making the most of simply drums and a guitar played through numerous amplifiers, this pair churn out an instrumental and hypnotic groove that can be one minute frenetic and noisy with chaos, then the next soothed and melodic, before the next minute brings along a tribalistic repetiveness. Somewhere between Lightning Bolt and Death From Above 1979, but more math rock and less relentless heaviness or dance punk. http://youtu.be/V0uwSi1WGwA
