Now, taking a break from the upcoming acts is one who doesn't need to prove themselves to anyone. Dave Grohl has become one of the biggest names in rock of recent years, from his role as drummer in seminal Seattle grunge band "Nirvana" in the early 90s through to where he stands now as frontman of "Foo Fighters" and full time Rock God. The following they have amassed within their twenty year existence only serves to prove this, they are unparalleled by any rock band out there, with seven flawless studio albums already released (four of which Grammy Award winners), countless sold-out world tours and fans so eager to express their love for them, we've seen articles such as "10 Reasons Why Dave Grohl Is Basically Jesus" on this very website. So, when last month it was revealed that the band's long awaited eighth studio album would be released this year. It was very good reason to get excited. When further explored as to any details of the album (which Grohl and co. are keeping close to their chest) this excitement was at least doubled. The band are cryptically hinting that this record is "Something new", and that there has never been anything like this record attempted in the same way. Rumours point towards this meaning that the new 12 track album will be recorded in 12 different studios across the world, in order to make each track sound totally unique, but this is unlikely to be the full extent of the band's plans. With 2012's "Wasting Light" recorded using only analog equipment in order to create a more raw-sounding record, its evident of the level of care and passion put into each release from the Foos. And with the promise of this album taking that hard working ethos even further, fans have a lot to be excited about.
