15 Alternative Christmas Songs That Will Still Make You Feel Festive

14. Just Like Christmas - Low

This is a very appropriate choice given that the band themselves are Mormons and thus probably enjoy having a bit of a song and dance about their Lord. Regardless of whether you think Christmas Day is about celebrating a religious saviour, or just an excuse to get off your kite on industrial strength Bucks Fizz, Low€™s 1999 album Christmas would be a fitting choice of background music.

The opening track presented here is quite an about turn when compared to their usual output of moody slowcore. It€™s a dynamite little tune that chugs along with all sorts of festive adornments: sleigh bells, kettle drums and deliciously snowy sounding vocals. It€™s basically three minutes of Low gleefully singing the same refrain about old JC€™s birthday. Perfect Christmas pop in other words.

Chris James Peet says hello. His interests include hoping for the best and sitting in chairs. He much prefers moaning to counting his blessings and suffers fools gladly. He also likes to look out of the window and check what's in the fridge but he hates standing up, dripping taps and reality.
