15 Best Death Metal Bands Ever
14. Entombed
Originally performing under the name Nihilist, Entombed formed in 1987 and quickly began their rise up the Scandinavian metal ranks.
With a huge range of influences including names such as Testament, Slayer, Black Sabbath, Repulsion and even Kiss, it's no surprise that Entombed have one of the most polarising death metal styles you'll ever hear.
Entombed formally introduced themselves to the global metal scene in 1990 with their debut album, 'Left Hand Path'. This record spawned an entire new wave of death metal when it created the famous 'buzzsaw' guitar sound.
Entombed pushed the use of distortion pedals and heavy metal pedals further than any death metal band even considered before, let alone attempted. Because of this, their debut work is viewed as an essential metal record and was even listed as one of Rolling Stone magazines top 100 metal albums of all time.
Entombed now have a total of nine studio albums but, have not released any new material since 2007's 'Serpent Saints - The Ten Amendments'.
