15 Best Metal Albums Of 2019

4. Tomb Mold - Planetary Clairvoyance

Toronto's Tomb Mold seem to have made it their mission to raid the upper echelons of lists like this every single year, with Planetary Clairvoyance a sharp step forward from 2018's outstanding Manor of Infinite Forms.

An album of greater technicality than its predecessor, its seven songs are nonetheless coated in a thick layer of filth enhanced by cavernous production reminiscent of Tomb Mold's influences, though Planetary Clairvoyance is never derivative. This is a big, beefy death metal release of thick grooves, evil leads, and bellowed vocals, representing the absolute best of the ongoing OSDM revival.
