Speaking of prolific, here's Crowhurst, whose 2019 release, III, became the latest entry in a huge discography of noise, dark ambient, and other unconventional delights back in April. It's a tortured, anxious collage of sounds that defies traditional genre classification, opening with straight-up black metal on "I Will Carry You To Hell," and closing on brutal, oppressive noise with "Five Characters In Search Of An Exit," leaving the listener unsettled in the best possible way.

III is brave and uncompromising. For maintaining such ominous, nihilistic vibes across this diverse sonic palate, Crowhurst's dexterity is undeniable.
