15 Best Rock Songs About Growing Up

11. Hazy - Red Vox

Another song about the more saddening aspects of growing older. This time around, however, the tone of the song fits the subject matter to a perfect T. The composition is slow, emotional, and flows smoothly. This perfectly accompanies the deep and weighty, yet oddly relaxing vocals.

Hazy tells the story of a man who is dissatisfied with what he has (or rather, hasn't) accomplished in life. He once believed that growing older and wiser would give him the tools necessary to achieve his dreams, but soon finds out that it's a bit more complicated than that.

He goes on to describe that he'd simply be better of lying in bed all day, reminiscing about times when things were better. He then begins to tell the audience that while he still has ambitions, he lacks the confidence and, in his mind, the ability to see them through. This is something many people feel from time to time.

While some of the other tracks on Red Vox's debut album have a bit more optimistic outlook on life, which illustrates that the feelings inspired here are strong but do not define us, this track is definitely the type used to vent and reflect.
