15 David Bowie Songs That Showcase His True Genius

Celebrating the genius of the greatest artist of the last 50 years.

It's no real exaggeration to say the entire music-loving world has been in mourning since David Bowie's death, at the age of 69, after an 18 month battle with cancer. He was one of the greatest musicians of his generation - constantly evolving, never settling, and always challenging both his audience and himself. In truth, he was one of the greats of three generations, such was his longevity. From his early albums in the 1960€™s to his fascinating final album released this year to coincide with his 69h birthday, he has been a tornado of never-ending creativity and reinvention. He€™s been a folkie, an alien, a glam-rock icon, a New Romantic, a soul singer, a synth pioneer, a stadium-filling pop-star, the frontman of a hard rock band and many more personas besides. Throughout every stylistic change, though, one thing remained constant €“ he made truly excellent music. It's difficult to over-emphasise how much Bowie meant to his fans, or how much influence he has had over countless artists over the years. And the best way to celebrate his life is to look at the man through his music.
