8. Out Of The Cellar (1984) - Ratt
An absolute essential. Ratt's debut album Out Of The Cellar is a must for fans of the genre. Actually, it's a must for rock/metal fans in general. First off, look at that album cover. Doesn't it just scream hair metal? And yes, that's metal favorite Tawny Kitaen up there. Not quite sure if there's supposed to be a concept with that cover, but hey, does there need to be? As far as the album itself goes, it's an undeniable classic. Great performances from the band all around. Warren DeMartini is a guitar god, spewing out some of the best riffs and solos ever, including the album's biggest hit, "Round And Round". Stephen Pearcy deserves just as much credit. His voice is unique and unmistakable. Oh, and awesome. The songs are great all around as well. My personal favorite is Lack Of Communication, but (and I know I'm sounding like a broken record here), they're all great.
